From Small to Strong: The Alchemy of Strength Training and How Weightlifting Can Improve Your Life

In this episode, I discuss my journey with strength training and the importance of building muscle. I share my personal experiences and inspirations, emphasizing the 180-degree shift from wanting to get smaller as a teen to wanting to grow stronger as an adult. I highlight the alchemy and science behind strength training, including the production of chemicals like BDNF, endorphins, serotonin, dopamine, and GABA, which contribute to improved brain function, mood regulation, pain relief, focus, and relaxation, and why I prefer weight-lifting to any other workout. I explain how strength training is not just about changing your body composition or its look, but about improving the way your body functions as you age. Incorporating a weightlifting routine can help you produce chemicals that heal and help you, improve your metabolic health, increase bone density, extend your lifespan, boost your cardiovascular health, and your overall functional performance. In closing, I introduce my new Instagram Subscription offering bite-sized self-care content, curated each week to be fun, interesting, and accessible to everyone.
